What do you think of this twin set?

We are having twin girls, and are currently thinking of:

Emilia Rose Isabelle (which we will probably shorten to Emily)

Ivy Rose Elizabeth

Do you think it is acceptable to give them both the middle name Rose? I also like that they have the same initials backwards (i.e. ERI and IRE) - I also quite like Emilia Rose Iris, which do you prefer?

Their brother is called Charlie (Charles Theodore George), do you think these names all sound good together? (Charlie, Emilia/Emily and Ivy)

Thanks!

I would choose different middle names for them. Both having Rose seems a bit like a missed opportunity, when there are so many other lovely names in the world that you could have chosen. The backwards initial thing seems a bit unnecessary. Because most people wouldn't bother to notice.

Emilia Rose and Ivy Elizabeth both sound nice.

The name Isabelle is actually a variant of Elizabeth. So I would probably choose one or the other to prevent the names becoming too 'matchy.' If you want them to have two middle names each, it would be a good idea to look for two completely different names. Treat them as two unique individuals. :-)

I wouldn't have the same middle name- a name (whether middle or first) should be a special namefor your individual baby. To use it twice means there is no individuality, and therefore the meaning to you loses its specialness. Emilia Rose Isabelle and Ivy Elizabeth sound nice.

It's nice that they have the same initial backwards- but I think I'd sacrifice that (as most people, apart from you of course, won't realise this, so by having a name more individual to them- by using Rose for one only- you lose nothing but gain the more individuality of the names).

Emilia Rose Iris sounds beautiful, and I think it flows better compared to Isabelle, but both are beautiful names.

Emily, Ivy and Charlie sound great together. But unfortunately, schoolfriends don't stick to preplanned nicknames. There was an Emilia, who was known as Milly by everyone, and her parents her planned Emily and tried to stick to it. Ultimately, nicknames are formed naturally, and although you may set out to call her Emily, it may change. My advice is to decide on a favourite nickname (Emily) but also make sure you like possible other nicknames- Em? Emma? Millie? Lia? And so on. If you don't mind those nicknames, go for the name. If you dislike a very obvious nickname for the name, don't, as, whatever you try to do, it's very possible the child's school friends will have different ideas. Alexander was meant to be Xander (friend's son) but is now Allie, for example.

They are all beautiful names, not too matchy, all are classic and beautiful, and I prefer Emilia Rose Iris personally as it sounds better together.

    My dream nams:

    Emilia Rose Iris

    Ivy Elizabeth

What about other R names? Rachael, Renita, Romila/Romilda, Rowan/Rowena?

Emilia & Ivy, I like it. Charlie, Emilia, & Ivy- even better. It's very nice. I think it's perfectly fine they have the same middle name, as they do have another. It's better than having matchy first names!

I much prefer Emilia Rose Iris to Emilia Rose Isabelle. It's sounds A LOT better, in my opinion. Congrats on your twin girls!

I honestly love that twin set of names. I love it when they have those little details of relation.

I am a female twin myself. My name is Nanette and my sisters name is Natalia. Both our names start with Na and we don't have a second name, so it's pretty simple.

Emily and Ivy kinda rhyme and I like that. Just remember that calling them out might get a little confusing ;)

A pair of cousins of mine have the same first name and different second names, so they're often just called by their second names.

In my opinion, giving them the same second name would be just like adding another last name, since they're gonna be the same as well. But it's a actually a nice detail :)

I also think they go well with Charlie since all names have i's and/or e's.

    That's all I have to say :D

Source(s): I'm always writing short stories so I always have to be making up names and combining them :P

I love them all. I don't think you should have them having the same middle name if you want there initals to be the same backwards you could have Ivy Rebecca, Ivy Rachel, Ivy Reese, Ivy Rain, Ivy Rhiana

I personally think Iris goes best but either one sound beautiful.

    Hope I helped and congratulations.
