are ginger cats larger then the average moggy?

i have recently bought 2 male kittens from separate litters , both are moggies, one is white with a few markings and the other is your classic "tom cat". im asking this because my ginger kitten is a week younger then the other kitten but he is much larger overall. thanks

As far as I know, no. It all depends on what's in the cats lineage - I've had two tuxedo's from kittens, one grew very quickly and we thought he was going to be huge, but he quickly stopped growing and ended up with a rather small head for his size. The other grew a lot slower, and at first we thought he wouldn't get much bigger than our tabby, but he's actually on the large side at 5kg, and can get onto our shed roof which my other cat definitely can't.

stretched out, I reckon he is one and a half times her length.

I believe that somewhere in his lineage there is some longhair cat in him due to this and his fur. Although there are some breeds known to be bigger than others, since most domesticated cats are a mash up of breeds, there's no way of telling from their fur colour alone.

No reason to expect the color to be related to the eventual size of the adult cat. But as kittens, their growth rates can be different. Kittens often put on spurts of growth.

I remember thinking my one kitten was always so much smaller then two of my other kittens, who were a couple months older. Then, one day there were all side by side, and my 'smaller' kitty was actually bigger then either of them.

Your Paul Newman looks like a rag doll!! I have 3 rag doll mixes, one is diabetic she is about 15 kilos and that i spend quite a few time making sure she eats proper, no dry meals, that is how she received it in the first position I think, She eats low carbs canned and will get her pictures on time every day!! I scan her blood stages each day to be certain she isn't attending to a lot insulin in her shot. NOW that is kitty love! No existence for me! Ha ha.. Presouz is 14 kilos and Sami is 12 kilos desire I knew tips on how to add some photographs!!

if they are from seperate litters, you might find that its their genetics making the ginger one bigger. He could have had a bigger 'daddy cat', and might take after him. whereas the smaller one was a smaller tom cat.
