If liberals realized able bodied people should be self sufficient and pull their own weight, we wouldn't have such a huge debt from entitlement programs.

When it happens, it will be devastating. We will go from being a first world nation to a third world nation almost overnight. Just imagine paying $50 for a loaf of bread! This is what happened to Germany back in thhe 1920s, which is part of the reason why they eventually chose to embrace a very radical politcal party in 1933 known as the Nazis. They were desperate for their own version of REAL CHANGE and they found it!!!!

You have it backwards.
I knew a woman who lived during the Great Depression. In 1988 she said to me, "What America needs is another Great Depression."
I said, "What are you talking about?"
She said, "American selfishness, rugged individualism, and greed has made us forget what builds great societies-- cooperation. In the Great Depression, we ate on our street by having one neighbor bring the bread, one neighbor bring the cheese, another would bring the ham, another the lettuce, another the tomato, etc until we could all make a sandwich and dine together."
It was a profound point I've never forgotten.
