Causes of pins and needles (frequently)?
I keep on getting pins and needles, sometimes it is when my legs are crossed or I'm kneeling however, I also get them when I am lying down with my legs straight out or when I am sitting on a stool with my legs dangling. Could there be an underlying cause?
How can I prevent them?
BTW I get them a a couples of times a day and I it's normally in my feet, not in my lower legs or above.

There are many possible causes of this symptom. If you're diabetic (or even if you're not), it can be a sign of peripheral neuropathy (nerve damage). If you haven't been tested for diabetes recently, you should be soon, as this is the first symptom some diabetics complain about. Alternatively, you may have some nerve entrapment going on in the feet, ankles, knees, hips, or lumbar spine. There are many other possibilities. You can confirm that by clicking this link for a good two-page article about it:

I'd suggest getting the pins and needles checked out with a doctor.
