Have you grown sand cherries? Are they sweet enough to eat fresh?

I want to grow some fruit but regular sweet cherries won't make it in my plant zone. Are sand cherries good to eat or are they too sour?

Sand Cherries bushes are sour just like most of the pie cherry trees.

Don't give up on sweet cherries though. Find a sheltered spot, and you should be able to make it work. (unless you live in an absolute arctic climate)
