Printers & Copiers VS ATM's?

Why is it that ATM's have been giving out the exact amount they're supposed to since the 1980's for the sake of Christ, but I'll be a monkey's uncle if I can find a printer or copy machine manufactured in twenty effing thirteen that doesn't jam and tear up my sh/t at best once per week?

Update:

CHIP: Then why not also make money off of repairing ATM's that shredded 13 $20 bills?

ATMs don't print anything genius. There's no ink/toner to muck up the gears and rollers; hence, not as many jams. You're foolish if you think ATMs never have a problem or need servicing.

Modern electronics industry: Companies make more money off of repairing/replacing crappy parts than they do from making a well-engineered product in the first place.
