what does "Cómo te encuentras" mean?

i know it means how are you but would you say this when you first greet someone or is it something a doctor would ask his patient?

    Yes, it can be used to greet someone, but a doctor would say "como te sientes"

    Yes you can say it. It means "how are you doing". We say that all the time when we speak to our friends.

    It could be: "How are you?". or "How are you feeling?"
