1 AnswerBooks & Authors7 years agowhat does 'lo que sí' mean?
ok i have this sentence 'lo que sí le hizo prometer fue ...'. which i believe translates to 'what he promised her was...'. I am not sure why the sí is there. can someone explain or point me to a website for further explanation.
The entire passage is 'Ella suponía que Will le era fiel en su particular convento náutico, y si no era prefería no saberlo. Lo que sí le hizo prometer fue que no se lanzaría de cabeza a la bebida.'
thank you

2 AnswersLanguages8 years agospanish: I might have gone vs i could have gone vs i would have gone?
these are my guess as to the correct translations:
i might have gone = puede que haya ido (maybe i went or maybe i did not)
i could have gone = podría haber ido ( i could have gone but i did not)
i would have gone = habría haber ido
Am I correct?

2 AnswersLanguages8 years agoPlan on buying a house in 2 years. Any advice?
Ok so I just finished school and I have started working. My take home income after taxes is $3000/ month (i am looking into getting a part time time to make a little more). I have $26000 in student loan and no other debt. My credit score is just under 700. My plan is to buy a house in two years time ( because I need two years of income, right?) So any one have any advice for me on what I should be doing for the next two years? I will starting paying my student loan starting this month and I will not be tacking on any more debt (buying a car, credit cards...).?

3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years ago2004 impala transmission slipping during cold start?
Over the last week, each morning when I start the car and after shifting from park to drive, when I press on the gas pedal, the car won't move. It acts as if is stuck in neutral; the engine cranks but the car won't move. So I put it back into park and back into drive again and do it all over again. It usually takes about five times or so but it will eventually kick in. Afterwards, it does not give me any trouble to get work. Is there any fix for this without having to replace the transmission?
