    Pros:

    – With Windows installed via Boot Camp, runs 100% of the programs and games on the market (PCs do not).

    – Has no issues with virus (zero viruses have been found that can damage Mac OS X system files) and very rarely with any other malware (Windows is plagued with these).

    – Cost no more than any other brand with equal hardware (Thunderbolt, Firewire 800, EFI firmware, high pixel-density screen, glass trackpad, aluminum case).

    – Fully compatible with most of the hardware available for upgrading computers. (Standard SATA hard drive, standard PC-10600 SDRAM).

    – More support for a MAC if you have issues with it. Most computer places fix them. In my city, there are dozens of shops that repair Apple (I'm in China!)

    – Run Flash and other programs needed for viewing many web pages perfectly, including QuickTime plugin needed for viewing NASA and PBS Nova sites. (QuickTime can be installed on PC, but most PC geeks don't seem to know how)

    – Fully compatible with all Apple products and services (iPad, iPhone, iPod, iTunes, App Store).

    – Along with iOS devices, it forms the largest online group of all (More than Windows / Windows phone).

    – Is the most reliable brand (see chart at link below).

    – Is the most popular brand, link below (Q4 2012: "Apple continued to lead the PC market, shipping 27.0 million units and taking its share over 20% for the first time. HP shipped 15.0 million PCs.")

    Cons:

    – Your Mac-hating friends will say you bought garbage, you are a sissy, you are gay, you are a hipster (worse than the other insults!).

    – You will have trouble finding a reason to get rid of it, since it will out-last 90% of PCs. I have three that are over ten years old, one is 15 years old!

    – If you do place an ad to sell it years later, you will be plagued with too many phone calls from people who know it has great resale value and still works great.

    Pros:

VERY solid OS with not many viruses,

Very good design, metal chassis, Responsive track pad, Nice back-lit keyboard, All of the mac's screens are nice but the retina mac book pros are just stunning.

Good for video editing and photo capabilities as well as things like iphoto. imovie and garage-band (garage band if you dont know is a music program where you can record things etc), dont forget itunes either.

    Cons:

Generally more expensive ( however lets face it you are going to pay the same amount to get the quality of a mac if you are buying a pc)

    Games - Just NO

Generally you are may not get the most power for your money however is that not the same with the ultra-books.

Ok so in my opinion i think that it all comes down to the OS - Windows or Mac OSX - You choose.

Execs: * beautiful exterior * lovely interface * high-resolution icons * great fonts * soft animation and three-D results * iLife suite is great (iPhoto, iTunes, GarageBand) * Mail has a common inbox * The power cord is hooked up magnetically (so it is not going to spoil when you shuttle on the wire) * Multitouch monitor pad (that is on some home windows laptops but it surely's on each Mac computing device) * higher security than home windows Cons: * excessive cost, even for entry-degree * Counterintuitive interface (but most Mac users get used to it speedily) * moderately (in comparison with windows) restrained program and peripheral hardware decision * inability to run internet Explorer (some folks use IE-most effective web sites--shame on these sites' web "designers") * sluggish boot time * slow OS generally unless you really add quite a lot of RAM (if you do add RAM, be sure to buy from a retailer like NewEgg as a substitute of Apple--Apple relatively marks up its RAM) * quite a few Mac customers feel "higher protection" is the same as invincibility, and they also set up trojans... Or they run antivirus thinking with a view to do some thing to guard them (it won't) * Closed source OS (though home windows is, too) when you do make a decision to get a Macbook, get the cheapest one that you would be able to. It does not sound as when you've got any special wishes that will warrant a really pricey Macbook professional or Air.

    Cons:

Does not run 95% of the programs and games on the market

Has issues with viruses and other types of attacks. Often worse than a Windows computer. Because of the myth that MACs can not get viruses, so no one runs virus scanners which allows them to run wild.

Cost 50% or more over a Windows laptop of the same speed and power.

Not compatible with most of the hardware available for upgrading computers. You are stuck with what you purchase.

Less support for a MAC is you have issues with it. Most computer places do not fix them. You have to go back to Apple.

Do not run Flash and other programs needed for viewing many web pages.

pros-the OS is easy to use, hackers have a problem hacking them, durable, lite, programs easy to find that are compatible with windows programs, great with graphics & animation, faster than most laptops.

cons-hard to upgrade if @ all, pricy, not built good for gaming.

this review is from personal experience. today's macs are more user friendly than they were in the past.
