Why won't my electronics turn on or charge?

Hello.

3 weeks ago I bought a new net-book and a new tablet.

Both products were brand new, worked perfect, and everything was great.

Two nights ago, I charged both of my new electronics on their separate chargers but I used the same outlet in my kitchen. Then this morning before I went to work, I put my tablet on it's charger and my net-book on it's charger using the same outlet in the kitchen.

Once I got to work, I realized my tablet wouldn't turn on.

And now my net-book is also acting up and it is not charging.

What could have happened to my new electronics? They were both working fine yesterday, and now today, my tablet won't even turn on and my net-book will not charge at all.

Update:

I've tried different outlets other than the one at my house.

Neither of them are charging, at all.

The tablet, when put on the charger, gets hot.

The net-book turns on, but just doesn't charge whatsoever.

I'm really going out on a limb here, but were these chargers near a microwave oven?

I suspect a power surge that has damaged the chargers, but I can't help but wonder if you have a microwave oven with a serious leak? If you try to use WiFi in the kitchen, and turn on the oven, does the WiFi signal drop out?

At the minimum, exchange the units and plug the chargers into a good surge suppressor strip on another circuit.

I must say, this is just plain too odd!

It could be the outlet. Try moving the charger to a different outlet.

It could be the device. Try re-starting it.

If this doesn't work, try going to the place you bought the device, and ask the counter people for guidance

If you device is truly broken, and you saved the receipt, then you will get a refund and you can exchange it for a new one
