How to deal with insomnia?

I can't seem to fall asleep in time. It's not like I take naps. I end up falling asleep around 5 am. I really hate this situation because when I can't sleep, I just can't stop having bad thoughts about my life. I think about all the mistakes I made, all the things I do wrong, what a bad daughter I am and what a horrible girlfriend I am. I really need to stop this coz it's leads me to self harm and suicidal thoughts it's just making me sick.

Any help please? :(

    ok i had this problem but im insomnia free since ive had kids 2 yrs ago LOL try warm full cream milk b4 bed lay on a comfortable lounge and put a very boring tv show on i use to watch sbs or abc. Listen to music. Listen to boring music like ambient sounds. Read a book. Do puzzles. Go for a walk think of how you would spend A Billion dollars ive done this b4 and it turned into a dream it was still a shitty nites sleep but i did manage to get some so that the next day i wasnt 2 sleep deprived u could go to doctors and find out why i never did i wish i did i use to get so anxious and get pains in my stomach like i was nervous i use to even not b able to sleep bcoz i was thinking about what i had to get at shopping the next day

    qyut drinking or eating any foods that have caffien in them, or at least no later, than 3 pm in the after noon.

    the caffien can keep you awake all night, even if it never used to.

    you may need to go see a dr and talk about your thoughts to someone, and help get them OUT of your head.

    it helps a lot
