Is it time Woosha and West Coast Parted ways?

Don't get me wrong Woosha is a legend and has played a part in all of West Coasts premierships but IMO it's time for a change up. It seems to me like the problem at West Coast is a number of Veterans are beginning to drop off and are now far to slow while the younger players just haven't improved enough to keep us up near the top. The hunger has gone, confidence is probably rock bottom while Woosh and the MC continues to pick players like A.Selwood and Embley based on passed glory and there seems to be no evidence of a plan B. thoughts?

Your right mate Embers and and Adam Selwood seem way past their prime and woosha doesn't want to let them go. Last year when we gave Mcginnety a go as sub he turned into our go to man for the green vest. Embly has proved last night and on other occasions to be unreliable as sub yet woosha seems to prefer him to Mcginnety for old times sake. They shouldn't sack wordfield but maybe give him a little push to move on or down to an assistant coaching role.

I agree that picking players by name and not by form is the wrong way to go, but Worsfold is a very capable coach. Sure, this season hasn't been all it had been hyped to be preseason, but I don't think that's a reason to call for Woosha's head - at least not right now. I suspect that the loss to Richmond probably wasn't largely his fault - it was the players who were lacking the hunger, after all, not the structure of the game.

See the way they came out of the blocks this year with injuries, then immediately losing to the Dockers, putting themselves in catch up position for the whole season. Which made this Tigers game, usually an automatic win, then catching the Tigers absolutely on fire. All more or less unexpected events.

So to answer your question. You don't dump a club legend in mid year just because things aren't going well. There's really no evidence that would help this club.

West Coast have St Kilda at Etihad. then the bye. then the Hawks at Etihad. then Essendon at home. one would have to say that if the players can't lift their game to win 2 of the next 3. then it would be fair to start asking questions about Woosha's job. but footy does run in cycles. i still reckon his job is safe until the end of the season. then the club can start to re-evaluate his position at the club. but it was very clear on Monday night. that the Eagles lack run of half back + through the corridor. something that other Eagles fans have spotted & posted on this site earlier in the season.

    Cheers mate.

My theory is that great players rarely make great coaches. Players who had to think more because they lacked natural talent make better coaches I reckon.

Woosha was one of the most talented players I've seen. He's a bit like Bucks I reckon - doesn't have a plan B.

Not going to write the Weagles off just yet, had a few injuries and not firing on all cylinders at tthe moment but I reckon they will still finish 6th and get a home final

It's got me damned why they don't play hams a little more to be honest, sure he as a tendency to throw the head back a little, but he is quick and takes the game on.
