Sunburn, now in the hair brush phase, help!!!?

I took my daughter and little sister swimming on Sunday. I was in and out of the pool and, despite generous amounts of water proof SPF 85 sunscreen for babies, I developed a nasty little sunburn. The girls didn't, thank goodness.

It was angry and red Sunday night and covered 50 % of my back, all of my arms and my face. Well, for some reason, this terribly intense itch started earlier today. I put my Mary Kay after sun care on my skin and it didn't help. I honestly felt as though fire ants and mosquito's were simultaneously biting my back. It itched so intensely that I wanted to leap out of my skin. After a few minutes it subsided.

Well, it is now evening and the itch is back with a vengeance. If I touch it, it burns. If I itch it I find no relief and the intensity of the itch grows. I can barely focus and it is taking forever to type this. I have never experienced this before. If I don't find relief soon I am going to take a cheese grater to my back because this pencil and hairbrush isn't working.

Please, someone help me before I reach the scalpel phase in which I begin carving away at the affected area. If you have never had the sun burn itch, good for you, we can have a party when I feel better.

From my experience with a few sunburns, you may want to go out and purchase Banana Boat Soothing After Sun Gel, because it's only about 6 dollars, and it will most likely last you through this sunburn, and probably for whenever you need it next in the future. I also recommend that you purchase Aveeno Soothing Bath Treatment, which is only about 7 dollars for 8 packets. Other than those two products which have worked for both me and my family in the past, I would recommend using some sort of lotion generously on your burn, since it will help moisturize your skin.

I hope your burn goes away quickly!
