What PROOF that the Bible or any other holy books are TRUE?

The only people who feel that it is outdated are those who do not understand it. The only people who believe that it is not true have never engaged in an attempt to logically disprove it without resorting to adding the assumption of disbelief. There is no period in human history in which science did not exist. To assume that is to demonstrate a lack of knowledge of what science is.

People who believe that the violence of the world is due to religion are those who look only superficially at a situation and fail to look for the real causes of that violence: greed and a lust for power.

As for blindly following the Bible, it is atheists who are blind to the truths of the Bible. Even when people believed the world to be flat, God knew that it was not.

The reason that atheists reject the Bible as authoritative is simply that they choose not to believe it. The reason that Christians accept the authority of the Bible is that they know the Bible has never been proven wrong about anything it actually says in spite of centuries of attempts to disprove it.

Atheists tend to believe what other people say about the Bible or they believe that they understand what the Bible says from small bits of it. Truth is not that easy to come by... .

If you are looking for people to agree with you and make you feel superior, then I have nothing more to say and you can stop reading here. If you honestly are curious, then my answer is: Christians believe in the Bible not because it portrays a modern picture of the scientific world, but because it has power on a spiritual/emotional level. Yes, the ink in the words on the paper itself has nothing special to offer, but if you try hard to live the way the words in the book describe, something profound happens in your life happens that is hard to describe to someone who has never experienced it. It's like trying to describe a live concert performance of Beethhoven's fifth to a deaf man. So the answer to your question is: so many people revere the Bible because it leads to profound and deep spiritual/emotional/social experiences, and that becomes proof of its value to each individual who has these experiences.

The Old Testament section of the bible is much older than 2,000 years. But the bible is a sacred text, the same as the Vedas, the Qur'an, and other religious writings. There is no proof!!! Why do you think the last things they report to you is that you need to have faith and do not question the word!!! Why does everyone say the bible is 2000 years old when it's much older than that. In order for one text over another to be truth from imagination, it must be inspired by God. The Holy Spirit is the confirmation of truth which makes all the difference.
