Would you read it, or throw it in the dumpster?
There is a book entitled, "Good Boss, Bad Boss", which I am going to give to my Boss. I figure a good Boss would read it cover-to-cover in hopes of becoming a better boss. While a bad boss would get pissed off because it was given to him, and throw it it the dumpster. If you were the boss, what would you do?
Cailean, NancyKay, and MoneyMan... You all took offense to the TITLE of the book, without having any idea of the TRUE content. BTW, my boss is President of a Small Oil Company. He knows he, and we, always have room for improvement... He thanked me for the book, and gave me a certificate for "Dinner for Two", because he "could see that I really care about the business". A number of self-improvement classes are in the making. The three of you, Nancy especially, should read the book...Barnes and Noble. Bye!

Not a good idea. A good boss could get the feeling u think he is a bad boss and get pissed and throw it away.
But if I were him I'd read it.

I would ask why are giving me the book and ask where do you think where I need to improve my skills and then ask around see what others thought, there's always room for improvement

I would think you were a presumptuous jerk to think you have any clue what it takes to be the boss and to judge me based on whether I read YOUR choice of books.
