The work function of a certain photoemissive material is 2 electrovolts. If 5-electrovolt protons are incident on the material, the maximum kinetic energy of the ejected photoelectrons will be:

A- 7eV

    if the work function is 2 eV, this energy should be subtracted from the incident photons. therefore the ejected photoelectonrs should have a maximum energy of 5 - 2 = 3 eV
