If it is for summer holidays, then I suggest taking a look at Turkey. There you will find places which look like heaven on earth. There are a lot Russians in Turkey having their summer holidays too.
Though some historical places in Russia must be seen, it is really good experience.

Yes!! I love Russia. But trust me, I'm not just some random dude who say "I like Russia". I love Russia so much that I would collect their stuffs! I have been doing so much researches about Russia that I know more about Russia than my own country.
Russia for me is perfect for a holiday. Moscow is huge, beautiful and expensive! Not everybody been to Russia and once you did, others think you are cool!!! Moscow has great restaurant (love the Pushkin Cafe) and beautiful buildings (st Basil is mesmerizing)! I heard that it's so beautiful. St. Petersburg's winter palace (forgot its full name) and church of savior on spilled blood is breathtaking. I also want to go to Volgograd for WWII USSR monuments and Kazan (sport capital of Russia). I also consider Novosibirsk, Omsk, Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk...
Who say Russia is not for traveling knows nothing about Russia. Russia is in the top 20 most traveled countries!

I was born in the Soviet Union and always wanted to go back and see how it changed. Its been a long time since I have seen Moscow. Soon, Russia. Very soon. I remember how the New Years was celebrated in Russia. United States can't beat that. Americans don't know how to celebrate New Years.
That's what I am thinking. New Years. Maybe not this year, but soon.
edit. Spasibo. Skoro planituyu poehat.
