One of my toilets howls like a banshee when flushed. What's up?

I have three toilets in my house suddenly one began screeching and howling when I flush. My neighbor says it is my pipes, I think it's something simple like a gasket. Who is right?

The house is 12 years old. I hope it's nothing major.

It could be mineral deposits or gravel in the fill valve causing the noise. Try closing the shut-off valve under the toilet tank part-way to cut the howl. Tank will fill slower but quieter.

    Good luck

The flusher is getting old, mine does that too. I'm just waiting for it to die. It's been over 6 months so I'm not worried.
