How to power a corded electric motor with a battery?

Basically I want to take a corded electric motor and slap it on my bike.

The motor I have is

120 volts

12 amps

1440 watts

and it's DC making it convenient for batteries.

I was wondering how I would go about or what I should look into to powering this corded motor with a battery to make it mobile.

    you would need to have to many batteries hooked up to it for the thing to work. also in my opinion the motor is to small to power the bike .

    That is 2 HP. Are you positive this is DC? that would be an unusual motor. Why do you say "corded"? A motor with a line cord is an AC motor, not DC.

    You would need 120 volts worth of batteries, such as 10 12v batteries in series.

    Or use a lower voltage battery, such as 24 or 36 volt and use a DC-DC converter to convert that to 120 volts DC.
