Question about salvation and getting to heaven?

Hello everyone, when the bible talks about salvation, it often says that all you must do is put your faith. In Jesus. But how is this the case when the bible says that few will enter Heaven. Any explanition would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved.

"But how is this the case when the bible says that few will enter Heaven."

Also true. Do you believe that faith in Christ is all that is required for salvation? Jesus is the only way to Heaven. Nothing else.

Look at Tiffany and George's answers, and of course Tiffany is closer than George is. That is why it is a narrow road. There are few who find it.

Works are important for SANCTIFICATION, they earn you Heavenly rewards. They do NOT account for justification....salvation, that is through faith alone.

That's what people, not the bible, say. This is what the bible says:

It is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).

However, these are things that we must do in response to God's call to us:

    1. Believe (Joel 2:32, Romans 10:1-13, Acts 8:37)

    2. Repent and be baptized: Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God (see Isaiah 55:6-7 and 59:1-2, Proverbs 26:11, 2 Peter 2:18-22, John 3:5 and 4:1-26, Acts 2:36-40 and 8:36-37, and Revelation 22:1-5). This baptism symbolizes our burial with Christ and death to sin, and resurrection with Him into righteousness (Colossians 2:11-15, Romans 6:1-14).

    3. Obey God (see John 14:15, 14:21, 15:10 and 15:14, James 2, 1 John 3:22-24 and 5:3-5, 2 John 6-11, 3 John 11, Revelation 21:7-8 and 22:14-15).

    3b. Walk as Jesus walked (Luke 4:16-22, John 13:15, 1 John 2:6, 1 Peter 2:21-25)

What if I still sin and I know it's wrong:

For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and fiery indignation which will devour the adversaries (Hebrews 10:26-27, also take a look at Proverbs 26:11 and 2 Peter 2:18-22 and at Hebrews 7:25 and Isaiah 59).

Whoever has been born of God does not sin, for His seed remains in him; and he CANNOT sin, because he has been born of God (1 John 3:9).

He came to set us free from the bondage of sin (see John 8:32 and Isaiah 48:10-11, 42:7 and 1:16-20)

Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that need not be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth (2 Tim 2:15).

Lord, what must I do to be saved? "Ye must be Born Again, born of Spirit & water." Spirit- born is when we humble ourself in prayer, repenting of sins, confessing Jesus as Lord, asking for salvation, giving life to God. Water-born is baptizism. This is like unto Noah & the saving of 8 souls in the safety of the Ark, through judgment. As Jesus is now the saving Ark. Also we must confess Christ before men. Simple "are you a believer in Jesus Christ?" I am!

in the event that they suspect that the Lord Jesus Christ died, became into buried, and rose lower back the third day for their sins, in accordance to the scriptures...(a million Corinthians 15:a million-4), then truthfully, and easily. confident. The bums and the prisoners who have been residing maximum of their existence time in reformatory would be assured heaven better than the pope, the Imams, the Dali Lamas, Roman Catholic clergymen and nuns, mixed.

Many want to add their own works which is not what the Lord wants. God knows all inward motives.

Faith without works is what is important. =)

It is very easy to avoid hell.

The ONLY way to reach heaven is to just be a good person – consistently practice love, compassion, kindness, goodness, justice, unity, brotherhood, equality, respect, integrity, honesty, patience, tolerance, courage, humility, etc for everyone and everything, including yourself.
