Could Christians please stop using scare tactics?
I'm getting a little fed up with it. Do you honestly think you're going to convert anyone by telling us we're going to Hell or posting a picture of the grim reaper beckoning? Not only is it not going to work, but it's also insulting. Stop using 19th century parenting methods on adults. Could you do that?

Believe it or not, those scare tactics work on a percentage of gullible adults.
Never saw the reaper shot, but have heard plenty of hell threats, and a couple guys offered to beat me up.
I talked them out of that, but they had the thought.
If Christians weren't so very frightened, there wouldn't be any christians.
they are likely to get worse, not to stop, as desperation sets in.
They are losing ground pretty fast.

Wou drive a car that doesn't work? Watch a tv that doesn't work? If youre driving the wrong way, would you still keep going that direction? The government has been using these tactics for ages. Just because they don't work on you, doesn't mean they don't work. Uts common sence. If id didn't work, no I've would do It.

You can answer by saying, "I thought you were supposed to believe and follow God out of love for him. Doesn't God know if you are only being good to avoid Hell, and not a genuine desire to be good for it's own sake?"
You could argue that atheists are better because the good things they do are because they actually think and believe it is the right thing to do, and not just as an attempt to avoid eternal damnation.

And ... where do you see Christians posting grim reaper pictures? I mean, BESIDES Chick tracts.
However, as far as warning of eternal consequences, telling someone the honest truth is not a "scare tactic". And no. No we won't stop.

Hell is the fear tactic. Christians dont realize this.
There three reactions
Atheists fight
Agnostics flight
Believers freeze

Loads of dead religions have an equivalent of Hell. It isn't a scare tactic and it isn't the grave(Luke 12:4, Luke 16:24) What do you care anyway? Are you afraid of Hell?

Jesus used it.
So will we.
If you consider it a "scare tactic," well it couldn't be, could it...since atheists aren't frightened of such myths.
Are you? In any case, you won't be able to say that you were not warned.

While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Is that better?
