Jews & Christians: How did Prophet Moses receive the Torah?
Was it spelled out for him or was it given to him via an Angel? I read few times that he received it "face-to-face" but I'm not quite sure what that means since God is without human form
Any help appreciated. Thank you
@Mark: Thanks but that doesn't answer the Q. What does it mean to say God gave it to him directly? Did He hand him a book, or spelled it out for him, or what?

God communicated directly with him - one on one
Num 12:6 And the LORD said to them, "Now listen to what I say: "If there were prophets among you, I, the LORD, would reveal myself in visions. I would speak to them in dreams.
Num 12:7 But not with my servant Moses. Of all my house, he is the one I trust.
Num 12:8 I speak to him one on one, clearly, and not in riddles! He sees the LORD as he is. So why were you not afraid to criticize my servant Moses?"

"Face to face" is meant allegorically; it is not meant literally. Yes, G-d gave the Torah directly to Moses.

The Torah wasn't in existence during Moses' time.
He was given the 10 COMMANDMENTS. Big difference.

Someone, who ever it is wrote that story. He was for sure a Kabbalist, since the cloak is written in the kabbalist language of branches and it is the complete building plan and user manual of the human body.

He made it up as he went along. Those long desert treks can be boring and he probably needed something to occupy his mind
