Dodge Neon or Chevy Cobalt? Which car should I buy?
Hello guys! I have a question and I want to hear some opinions.
I am looking to buy a car and I've been searching high and low for a vehicle on Craigslist.
I am a reliable car, one with decent gas mileage, because I drive over 60 miles a day for work, and one that is known to be dependable and not a piece of junk.
I have found two and tomorrow, I am going down to test drive both car.
I would like some opinions on which is the better car and the better deal.
The first car is a 2005 Dodge Neon SXT. It has an automatic transmission with 174k miles. The seller is asking $2650 obo.
The second car is a 2005 Chevy Cobalt. It has a 5 speed manual transmission with 120k miles. The seller is asking $3000 obo.
Talk to me guys, tell me which car is known to be great and which deal seems to be best.
Both cars have great appearance with the body, paint, the inside is clean, they look really good!
There are Toyotas and Hondas in my price range, but they are older models. I keep getting advice that I should buy something that is 2000 or newer. My limit is $3000. I already have a 2003 Toyota Corolla CE and it's a great car.
As for Ford, I almost bought a 2001 Ford Focus Wagon CE yesterday off of some guy from Craigslist for $2000, but it needed a lot of work put into it and I keep hearing Ford is crap.

Those are definitely not reliable cars, try some civic, corolla, sentra or accent.

Neons are known to be lousy cars. I'd go for the cobalt.
Any Honda Civics, Toyota Corollas or Ford Focuses in your price range?

Get the Cobalt,a much better car then the Neon.Being the Cobalt has lower mileage and is twice the car makes it a better buy.See how good they drive and unless you find something else,go with the Cobalt! You will love the stick shift Cobalt over the boring automatic Neon!
