Do people not understand that fascism and communism (in its final stage) are TOTALLY different?
@Prince of Night I fell over laughing at this. HARD.
I do agree that they are massively uninformed. I'm glad to meet a fellow communist, even though I follow the anarchist school of thought for reaching communism in its final stage.
@Tyrannosaur Rex Yeah, a lot of them fall victim to political nearsightedness. It really makes me laugh when someone calls Obama a communist, but it REALLY gets me going when people call him a fascist. I guess I could KIND of see it from his economic policies, but liberals in general are FAR from fascism.
TL;DR Fascism--> Far-right
Communism--> Far-left
Glad to see we've got a Ph.D here. :P
@Mjolnir History thus far has proven you correct; I'm of the opinion that communism has been grasped for too early in human development and also in the wrong way. With the above statement, I was merely referring to the theories.
@Bob W Whoa, whoa, slow down there. No liberal I know loves Stalin in any way. I'm a communist, and I definitely don't love the guy. The American left in the 1930s was the same in terms of social advocacy but was what would be known today as conservative in economics. The Republicans used to be the left, and the Democrats used to be the right. When the Democrats turned left around the 1970s, their social advocacy switched to what would, in modern times, be considered liberal, and their economic policies stayed the same. The modern Democrats, when takes to their MOST extreme, would be a group that advocates totalitarianism only on an economic level with virtually no restrictions on the social level.

In the actual effects, both end up being oppressive, anti-liberty, totalitarian states, REGARDLESS of theory.
Regardless of the details, these political systems are antithetical to the Constitutional Republic of the US.

All communist leaders become just as oppressive as the fascists.
"the ones who dont are stupid and should have their balls cut off and not be able to vote because they are ******* stupid"
-Um, and you think "fascists" are the oppressive ones? You should be shot.
I am against communism the same as I am against fascism. Both take away freedom of the individual and freedom of thought.
"Ph.D. Political Science"
-LOL, a joke Ph.D. Biochemistry Ph.D. is a real Ph.D. Political science is like getting a Ph.D. in religious studies, it's a joke.

Back in the 1930s the American left was pro-Stalin and Germany and Russia had a non-aggression pact. When Hitler invaded Russia, the American left became anti-Nazi for the first time. To this day they still hate Hitler and love Stalin even though Stalin murdered far more than Hitler.

No they do not.
They only understand things like . . .
black vs white.
republican vs democrat
conservative vs liberal
gay vs straight
rich vs poor
and my personal favorite from George Orwell . . .
FOR LEGS GOOD TWO LEGS BAD!
