My college research - Violent video games-who plays them? Do you? If so. or if not, why not?
ALL I NEED TO KNOW IS
Generally (or specifically) what you do
If you do play them, if so, or if not, why?
IF YOU ARE NOT COMFORTABLE STATING YOUR ACTUAL OCCUPATION, you can leave it blank, give a vague occupational role or state the position you hold (but not the company or field of work)
All I'm trying to do in my college study is assess if people in every occupation play violent/gory/unlawful crime based video games.
If you have any free time, could I ask what your hobbies are and what genre or specific films you like too please?
Also, have you had any effects from the games you have played?
I would appreciate any input from all of this
Thank you

I have a private practice, counseling, work retail, and have several hobbies, painting, my music, fashion designing and quilting, and a couple of collections, books, stamps and coins, a strong social life, and I love playing games on my PC. In fact I have one PC hooked up to my 52 inch TV, the other hooked up to a 24 inch monitor, and my laptop, for on the go and at work. They are challenging if they are the shoot to kill, but I really prefer the sword. I have been playing for 20 years and it just seems to be so much fun. I have been watching the Game of Thrones and now have the game, yes! I will watch anything on TV and from the looks of things have watched an awful lot of movies. I guess I have to say I like the older periods in games with dragons, zombies, and swords or knives. I don't think the games have had any effects on me, they seem to be very relaxing, make me happy, and I am 60. It may be different for kids though, because I had a sound childhood using my creative imagination, we didn't have colored TV or computers.

I am currently a student at TAFE
I play a variety of games when I am not too busy (on the wii,PC and PS2)
I play them to make me think
To relieve stress
There are other reasons but those two are the main ones
Hobbies I don't really have any other than the computer, fishing on occasion, riding my bike watching tv and movies.
Games I play are not all violent but at least half of them are.
Genres I like are
Horror
Comedy
Action
Drama
I haven't noticed getting any effect from the games I play. They certainly haven't made me violent.

Hi
I play games after school and the reason for those games, honestly if its a good game, it's a good game. Video games are an escapism that allows you to do things in the game that you can't do in real life. They're just fun and its mainly more a guy thing, watching cars explode, destroying buildings, crashing jets it's just fun.

Hello.
I did played PS3 (GAME- CALL OF DUTY)...I must say it's very addictive game, when I am on it and I don't get off it.
The negative aspect is I do not complete my modules (college work) when i was in college as most of my days and night were playing the game.
When i was in University, I did not touch the PS3 and carried on with my studies. (I was a Psychology student).
Hope this help with your research :)

Those who can't see more interesting things in the real world than sitting around playing idiotic video games are brain-dead.
