Mormons who have gone on a 'Mission'?
Was the experience positive for you or would you rather have not gone due to....?
I've known Mormons and never thought to ask about that experience.
c. I realized I might not get any 'negatives' because of reactions to those admitting they did not have a good experience, might have been really homesick, did not like the area they were sent to etc etc. but was curious. Wish I had asked the Mormons I had known, as they were pretty open and also when it was factual, they had their areas of dissatisfaction with the LDS Church and disagreed with some of it's teachings. But if someone had a good experience good for them. If it helped someone grow up, more the better. I'm just glad Ilive in an area that does not allow any religion go door to door. I kind of feel sorry for them when I see them in their white shirts and ties on a hot summer day bicycling down city streets knowing they usually get turned away and their efforts are moot.

It was difficult and discouraging. It was challenging and at times painful. It was also very rewarding. When I think of the people who joined the Church who might not have heard about the Church without my sacrifice and hard work, I would be very selfish to think only of myself. For many people have thanked me for my mission, and their lives were impacted for good for generations. I can say that from the perspective of nearly 40 years since I was called on a mission.

No quotes about it. It was indeed a mission in the service of Christ.
I did an awful lot of growing up while I was a missionary. I shouldn't have been one, but I didn't know it at the time. But God pulled me through it alive and without doing too much major damage.
The first time that I ever baptized anybody was as a missionary. As I recited the baptismal prayer, the Holy Ghost burned in every part of my being, body and spirit, in witness of truth. I knew then and I know now that I was serving my savior, Jesus Christ.

Going on a Mission for
THE Church Of JESUS CHRIST Of Latter Day Saints
requires a lot of faith. It is amazing what a person can do, who has enough faith.

Gettting a Mission call can often be a nerve wracking experience.
A Latter Day Saint feels good when they know where they are going.

I'm sorry but the LDS on here would likely never admit they had any bad experiences while on missions for their church. Others might see and reprimand them for it as peer pressure is a HUGE deal within mormonism. Instead, they carefully describe it in glowing terms, despite most missionaries statistically not capturing a single convert.
We know better. Life just doesn't go that way. But they don't dare to admit the truth. We know that as well.

It is one of the absolute best experiences of my life, and that preparation for life has improved the quality of all I have experienced since.

It was positive. Best time of my life. Wouldn't trade it for anything. A person really gets to see the hand of the Lord, when they are willing to put him first.
