Opinions on the Xbox one anyone?

I struggle to see why anyone would be interested in the next Xbox. I see people here thinking it would be great but what reason is there to like it?

Always listening, always watching, needing a constant internet connection, games using the cloud for processing and game data (what about a server failure anyone? Simcity?), can't loan games to friends, can't buy cheap second hand games and most important of all, Microsoft being a part of PRISM. What actual benefits does it have?

Not a Sony fan boy by the way. I just wonder why idiots don't realise how important privacy is.

The biggest problem I have with it (besides the fact that Microsoft is one of the main organizations who work with the government to spy on everyone) is the ridiculous 24 hour check-in crap. If your console does not connect to the internet and check in with the servers at least once every 24 hours, the console STOPS WORKING. Seriously?? WTF?? What happens if your internet goes out and it's going to take them like 3 or 4 days to come out to your house and replace some line or something? You go "ok, well I'll just play my game to pass the time while my internet is out". NOPE!!! NO PLAY FOR YOU!!!

It's just totally unnecessary. I understand they want to combat piracy, but I seriously doubt this "feature" was thought through very much at all.

Strict DRM seems so annoying, I buy most of my games at gamestop or used off people I know or from kijiji, those won't work on xbox one. And the 24 hour check is part of their DRM, but it is such a dumb idea. I also won't be spending $500 on something like that. And it REQUIRES kinect, who liked kinect? Why did they continue with it, I don't think they'll actually spy on you with it though. Only the mega xbox fanboys are looking forward for the xb1.
