The odds are currently in favor of the Democratic Party as shown by the -130 odds which pays right around $.76 for every dollar wagered. Conversely, the Republican Party has been given -110 odds which pays out $.909 for every dollar bet on the GOP to win.

    Anything else is wishful thinking.

Three years is a long-time to project odds. The last four elections seem to indicate that the Republicans have a distinct demographic disadvantage in presidential politics.

If they make some significant changes in policies and pick a moderate like Christie and the Democrats pick a bad candidate like Joe Biden, perhaps the Republicans can gain the 3% that they need.

If the Republicans put up somebody like Ted Cruz and the Democrats go with Hillary Clinton, the Democrats should win easily.

    Too early to say.

It depends on Obama's performance. If he leaves with strong approval ratings, the next Democrat will likely win. If he leaves with terrible, Bush-level, approval ratings, the GOP has a shot.

The Republicans need to make inroads with the Latino and African-American vote, and fast too. They need around 10-15% blacks and 35-40% Latinos by 2016.

If you look at the pattern we've ran forever it will be the republicans turn.

plus or minus zero % would be my guess.

most minorities aren't voting for republicans and without the minority vote a republican presidential candidate can't win.

i would say right now 50/50 ,but as it get more closer to election day the odds can go either way.

Considering what is going on right now in Washington.... a little better than 50/50.
