Title still in name of late wife?
This 16 X 80 Mobile Home belonging to a family member seems to have only the deceased wife's name on that paperwork. Her widowed husband has not changed that paperwork to have his name on as owner and she had passed away five years ago. He just keeps paying the bill. He is 78 and loves him home and isn't sure what to do at this point. The property where the Mobile Home is located is in his name. What can we suggest to him?
Thank you. We never thought about the Mobile Home is titled like a car. Now to get his daughter to help him resolve this to ease his worry. And yes, he has copies of her death certificate to show. This is in Northern Michigan and they had been married over 15 years.

This is a matter for either the DMV or an attorney. If the state it is registered in is a community property state there should be no issue, or if the estate has been through probate it is already settled.
