In AFL do players still get fined for staging for free kicks?

Do the AFL need to start suspending repeat offenders instead of fining players which is clearly not deterring players?

Apparently so, you see players taking a dive almost every game but this rule along with the deliberately rushed behind will never be paid again!!

There isn't much consistency with any ruling at present. especially the hands in the back rule. incorrect disposal of the ball rule. + the very controversial sliding into a player rule. which has most of us shaking our heads when it comes to the difference of opinion with the MRP. when charging players with this one.

I think the real problem with the staging for a free kick one. is that some players are just too good in disguising it. which has lead to most of us shaking our heads on this rule as well. when they are reviewed by the MRP. it's a case of dammed if they do. dammed if they don't for them.

    Cheers mate.

the question is when is it we draw the line between "milking" a free and diving.

What frees staged for do we suspend for, push in the back is just as bad for the other team as high contact isn't it. A free kick is a free kick.

Jack Riewoldt has never even been questioned, and neither has any of the Selwood brothers, so to me it's obvious they've gotten rid of the rule.
