Is the Intel crippler function still in use or has Intel changed their compiler?

I wan't to get an AMD FX 8350 but I don't want my performance effected by the Intel crippler.

    The difference will be very small.If you are scared grab a i5 4430.

    Not something an average user should ever be concerned about, for gaming and everything else mister John Q. Public ever does on a computer....

    That only comes in play for programming, C++ and other such highly specialized applications, and I think it's only fair that Intel does that.

    You don't spend tons of money on research, only to have someone else benefit from it, especially your only competitor.
