Can you use a white xbox 360 controller with a black xbox 360?

I know this is probably a stupid question, but I've never really been into video games, but I'm buying an xbox 360 today because I broke my leg and I need something to do haha. And I have two white controllers already but I found a pretty inexpensive black refurbished xbox at Gamestop and I just want to make sure I don't have to buy new controllers. Also does anyone know if it's a good idea to get a refurbished one from Gamestop, or should I just get a brand new one for like 40 dollars more? Thanks!

    Yep, there totally fine. I have two white and two black and they all work perfect just connect them to your X-Box and you can play. No need to go out and buy new ones.

    Yes. It will work. I have an old white Xbox. My son has a new black one. He sneeks my moded controller any chance he gets. He had to teach me how to program it in the first place. Between the two of us we have 5 controllers. White, black, and one moded.
