What are your thoughts on World War Z?

I read the book and I absolutely loved it.

I'm afraid to see the movie because I'm terrified of zombies and the psychological implications of "this is what would happen if society went to ****".

Here's the trailer if you haven't seen it or haven't made any opinion yet:

When I saw the tiny snatch of some guys carrying out the US Constitution I was heartbroken because I get really emotional and depressed when I see history threatened like that. It's the reason why I get pissed when I read about people burning libraries or books or defacing landmarks (I'm looking at you, rude Chinese kid in Egypt!)..

BQ: Have you read the book?

BQ2: What is your favorite disaster, post-apocalyptic, or zombie movie?

Love the book, refuse to see the movie. I've joined the boycott. Maybe it won't accomplish anything, but I'll be happy to know my money isn't supporting it. I do keep hoping that someday we get an HBO series of the actual book. And while I never much cared for Brad Pitt, this seals it for me. He bought the rights to a great book, then he ripped it up, set it on fire and pissed all over it, thus making sure nobody would actually make it into a movie. I hope it tanks.

BQ - Yep, and I have the audio version as well, which is great. Mark Hamill does Todd Wainio, the veteran of the Battle of Yonkers (which isn't in the movie).

    BQ2 - The Day After. A classic.

I enjoyed the book. I will probably end up season the movie. My son and I were hoping they would include the scene of the battle in which they use the Iron Maiden song "The Trooper" as rev-up music.

Zombie Land is a good movie. An old favorite of mine is also "The Day After" because it was a nuclear apocolypse movie made during the cold war.

It's more of an action film .

Brook's novel, is written as an "oral history of the Zombie War" that took place about 10 years prior as told to a U.N. employee. The pandemic that seems to have started in China, whereas in the film trailers we see Pitt heading towards Russia (Hollywood isn't interested in pissing off the Chinese lately, think "Red Dawn"). Other changes in adapting the book into a film are also evident in the characters and the action that takes place in the film.
