Why do you have to wear Retainers after the Braces?

To keep your teeth in the place they are after you get braces. If you dint your tooth would go back to the way they were before you got braces The choice is up to you everybody is different

Retainers really aren't that bad. Why undo the last 2 years work? I got my braces off yesterday and she told me to wear it at night. It makes me gag, because i have an AWFUL gag reflex and it touches the back of my tongue, but i don't want my teeth returning to the way they were before, so i wore it.

Personally i hardly ever wear my retainer just sometimes is enough...like if i have a big event or something. Braces are amazing i wore them for 3 years and the change to your confidence is life changing :)

I say to wear a retainer or else it will go back to normal. Plus retainers are not that bad at first you do have to wear them all the time only take them of when you eat or brush. But later you only have to wear them at night :)

so your teeth don't move back how they move back. you only have to ear them up until you stop growing. they are worth it, i had a brace for 1 1/2 and i still wear the retainer to stop them. m,y friend does not wear his and they gone back
