How can I prove what my old and new name is?
I just got married and now I am starting to update everything and anything that I can. In order to change my social security information I need proof of my old and new name. How can I prove what my new name is? I'm keeping my first and middle name the same, but changing my last name to his. On my marriage certificate and the other official paper I got in, my name is still my "old name." I thought my "new name" was supposed to be on the paper I received in the mail, or am I totally wrong and missing something?

You should be able to change your name, just by your marriage certificate and your old social security card, you have to go get a social security card in your married name then you take the paper work with your new nam on it to the DMV- that's all I had to do. Just show the marriage cert and my birth certificate, showing my old name and my new name. You have to start at the social security office, and work your way to the DMV. That all I had to do, in California, and Nevada.
