Help! Toe infected for over 1 month!?
I went to the doctor a few weeks ago as my ingrown toe nail got infected. He gave me 40 tablets of floxacillin (10 days) and after that it was still bad, so I went back and they gave me another lot of flozacillin tablets. I have now finished them and if anything, it's just as bad if not worse. I don't have time this week to book another appointment, what will they do if I do go back? Just another dose of tablets or suggest surgery? Can I just ring and speak to a doctor rather than book an appointment? I have soaked it in salt ever day!

I had the same problem, see a podiatrist and bring up ingrown toenail removal, I had it on both big toes and they haven't gotten infected since. The numbing hurts but after that you won't feel a thing. After your removal is do you will most likely have to soak it in Domeboro once or twice a day and you will need to change the bandages. Do NOT look up videos of this beforehand because you will only scare yourself and put yourself under unnecessary anxiety. Good Luck!!

See a Podiatrist, you have to have the ingrown toenail removed that is the only treatment that will work

I suggest you give them a call and they will either do another prescription or say that you have to come in for them to have another look.
