Bad skin, Eczema, Stress, pls help?
I'm about to turn 16 , & I've had eczema since I was a baby .,
So I don't really notice myself sometimes when I'm scratching my arms/legs
As a teenager I don't really wanna have such terrible skin , it looks really bad ,.
It bothers me that whenever I meet someone for the first time , before they even greet me ,.
They look right at my skin , & their facial expression changes ,.
Truth is ,. I don't really know how to stop picking my skin either ,. I've tried literally EVERYTHING ,.
I know that it's my fault that my skin is this way. It's almost liked I've lived in the doctors office getting prescibed steriod creams for my skin ,. Now I used Hydrocortizone products like Cortizone10. Do you have any advice?

My baby is 6 months old and has severe eczema on her face and body. Her face is worst as she can get to her face, it is horrible I know how you must be feeling. When my daughter gets tired is when it affects her the most, there is nothing I can do to stop her from scratching except hold her hands. I use long mittens but she just rubs her face instead which is almost as bad, her face looks as though she has been burned or something. It is constantly weeping and looks so sore. I feel so sorry for her. She too is seeing a dermatologist, she has been prescribed eumovate (steroid cream), bactroban, epiderm and hydromol- unfortunately none of these seem to be working on her face but her body is looking loads better. She does have 2.5mls of piriton twice a day, also prescribed by her doctor, it is supposed to help stop her feeling itchy. It seems to have helped a bit but she has only got this recentely and she is 6 months old now. Piriton is not supposed to be given to children under 1 unless prescribed. My baby finds it hard to sleep, she always wakes up itchy every 1-2hrs. I have tried everything I can think of to help her sleep but nothing works- she always ends up in my bed so I can stop her from scratching! I know I haven't been very helpful, but I just understood how you are feeling. Today a women came up to me in a supermarket and said to me 'what is wrong with your baby?' I couldn't believe it! I was so angry, how could she be so rude, my daughter is beautiful and she cannot help having eczema. I just feel useless that I can't stop her from being so itchy. Hope you find something that works soon, sorry I couldn't be more help.

The Id Reaction:
You have non-desseminated candidasis.
The Candida yeast, aided by your hormones (maybe stress, I don't believe in stress as a cause, but may be an aggrivator.) has morphed into Candida Fungus. This drives your immune system crazy as it is stuck to your gut walls and cannot be removed by the normal activation of the immune system. it does not show up in tests or blood, just you have high IGA(E, etc) markers.
You need to stop all the steroids you are currently using as steroids, a hormone, make it worse.
You need to pursuade your doctor to give you 2 cycles of Nystatin oral in drops at 2,000,000 IU per day (that for 20 days and it tastes foul) Pursuading your dr in the US of A is the hard bit.
You will feel much worse for the first 20 day cycle. This is known as 'die-off'. As you kill the Candida, it dies and releases toxins into your gut. Massive itching and diahorrea.
This is called the Id Reaction.
There is another treatment if the Nystatin doesn't work, but you have to pm me for that and I need to talk to your mother as it is 'experimental'.
Summer and extra sunlight usually boost your immune response, that's why it goes away.

I have eczema too and I hate it! This is nasty but I drink 2 teaspoons of extra virgin olive oil a day and it does help. When I get out of the shower I pat myself with the towel so I'm not all the way dry then I put a lot of lotion. I only use a little bit of steroid cream if my skin is really bad. Drink lots of water and try not to itch! To stop the itching you can get an ice cube and put it on the itchy area.
