Being an organ donor(DMV)?
I am applying for my first permit and I came across the Yes/No question if I want to be an anatomical donor. I would like to check mark 'yes' but I just wanted to know if this only happens when you have died. I'm a bit confused....so if you are a donor, they will only harvest your organs when you've died, not when you're alive, right??? Thx :D

Of course :) If anything were to happen to you and you die, they will use your healthy organs to save lives of others. So they won't take anything from you when you're still alive ;D Good job checking yes :) I'm also an organ donor.

Basically right, but their definition of "died" and "alive" may differ from yours. They won't harvest your organs when your brain is working. However, once your brain dies, they will harvest your organs, while your blood is still flowing through your body, because they use a machine that keeps your heart and lungs working without your brain.
