What is the word for...?

I draw floor plans and design houses and I am creating a universal form for my project's basic information, ie. bedrooms, bathrooms, location, etc. Anyway, I want to know if there is a word for renting or owning, it's hard to explain, but I would use this word and then answer renting or owning. If you don't understand, let me know!

    The thing that comes to mind when you ask for a word that would prompt you to answer "renting or owning" is "acquire" as in: How does one acquire this property? By renting or owning.

    That's my thought, perhaps not even close to what you're thinking.
