When did you achieve cognition?

A mist drifted to the forest, the floor

those of us gathered, who believed in such things

momentarily obscured through the thicket

from any distance, lit a bonfire,

intimate, but the night was not inanimate.

We were young, around the growing glow

not in black capes or unclothed

danced, chanting words we didn't know

no real potions or spells to cast, having to sneak back

into our houses before the morning clocks rang

In bed, I fingered a dime store pentagram

as the sun came up, the night had been damned

How odd.....while returning from dining, strolling and breathing in the summer

evening laughter, I was thinking of sempiternal and eternal

    triangles, quartets, pentangles

    - sextets and so on..settled to direct my thought to the meaning/s

through the ages I know of, of trigrams, pentagrams,

    hexagrams.; octagons

as I have to create a visual model to convey a

    psychological process, Kels

and the measurable effect/s of prayer (energy) upon people.

I am cognisant with a few of some of the aforementioned

in depth, others not so much.

    I tootle into`poetry` as I`m cogitating and

Lo and Be, Hold - your forest spell -dance and

    dawning of Light

    in fine form!

What comes to mind in response, is `Banish Fear`

    :) (: interesting synchronicity...LOL

    Kels

The poem I liked. It had a slant of eldritch clouded in

the mist of this moment, let there clearly is an innocence,

a fun part, with a skosh of intimacy within the nights

    animation that is tantalizing.

I have come upone scenes of this for a few times. The

most telling was during the Flag Story came upon a wide

circle of stationary scarecrow type figures on wood post

tamped in the ground, with an altar that was a burnt

sacrifice (whatever it was) in the middle. The four of us

ran like scared rabbits with the steel boat on our shoulders.

The poem does deserve a title unless "Cognition?" is the title,

and yes, I achieved more than cognition with this poem.

Keep up the good work with your poetry
