What's your favourite part about reading a book?

Is it the ending? It is the first line?

For me it's the part where the characters seem more real than every single person I know. Yours?

I like the crazy part where you feel like you are really actually there. like when theres an intimate moment you almost feel like youre invading the couples privacy or when somebody is being chased and you are literally terrified that the monster will find YOU. I like the middle or close to the end when its really intense. and then the end when i just sit there, in disbilief; like could the book really be over already? ? Haha i just read over my answer and i sound kinda nuts. Whatever i guess. Lol

There is so much in this world that is thrust on us. We can't watch tv or listen to the radio without hearing about something bad happening. Even if it's halfway around the world. I want to read and have some control over what goes in my brain. If something gets too rough, I can either put the book down and go back to it, or not read anymore. Often times I don't have any electronic device on. My cats and I relax and read. Unless I'm absolutely worn out, I read every night. There have been times when I know I read something because the book marker has moved, but I cannot recall how i got there. I go back several pages and I can find exactly where I remember reading last. I want something in my hands that is tangible. I don't want words on a screen. To me, it's not real. There's something about touching paper, turning a page, feeling like it's a part of the whole experience. Words on a screen seems so sterile.

I love learning about how a character grows or declines as a story progresses. Sometimes I put off reading the end because don't want to finish the book. I don't want to see how the ending will affect the character. I did this with the last Odd Thomas book.

Germaine Chevarie I love reading a book for a lot of different reasons. I's relaxing, so I especially enjoy reading before I go to sleep. I read while I take a long bath also.

My favorite part about reading is when I fall in love with characters—finding myself in some, loving to hate others. Most times I never fall in love with the characters. The author neglected them, their story. But when it happens it's the best feeling in the world.

reading a very mysterious section that keeps u thinking about it and can't find the answer for it,

ironically, the answer appears somewhere else in the same book. The answer is usually funny and soothing.

  • Eating it when I'm done reading. I find that Tolstoy particularly has a light aroma of paper, and a nice hint of binding glue.
