I can name 100 black celebs who have used the "N" word, why can they use it but Paula Deen can not?
Don't you love the way civil rights went from equality to getting even?
The far left created PC, so any term inconsistent with liberalism is racism.
Hey, I am not advocating the usage of the "N" word, I don't use it, but notice, liberals have a double standard, the police dept of liberalism (the news media) is trying to destroy Paula Deen because she had to admit she has used the word at some time in her life.
You never see the liberal media crucifying black people for racism unless they oppose socialism, of course. Why isn't the media attacking all people, black and white, who use the "N" word or are they just flaunting their double standard?
Cantankerous is the type of liberal who thinks civil rights is about getting even instead of equality.
Cantankerous would not refer to a Swedish descent American as a Swedish American because liberals see no value in Swedish people to exploit for political advantage. However, its OK to a refer to Caucasian as white but its racism to a refer to a ***** as black- that's liberal political correctness.
^-^-^-^- you are wrong, black people use the word, to flaunt the double standard that liberals, through political correctness have granted black people a double standard.;
isn't it possible for a white person to use the "n" word, in the same context as black people? why do you assume when white people use it, it must be racist?

Man, this is such idiocy that I can't even find a decent response.
So your defending a southern, foul mouth bigot who REGULARLY used slurs all her life and is a millionaire to boot.
What, you're going to try and convince me that SHE'S the victim here?
If you're Black you can use YOUR 'N' word as much as you want.
Get a friggin' clue.

Why IS it ok for black people to say the N word and not ok for whites to use it? Why is it ok for democrats like Bill Clinton and Harry Reid to say the N word? If a republican used this word, it would be like the end of the world. Take care.

Paula Deen can use it, no one stopped her, although she may wish someone had. What is language is acceptable by celebrities depends on who your fans are. and people who watch cooking show find the use of the n word offensive as the would the f word , but people who watch Black comedians do not.

perhaps more importantly -- why can some of those same 100 Black celebs use "Jew" as a pejorative and not be called on the same carpet as Paula Deen?
when that happens, it sure sounds like racism to me

First off white Americans can and do use the N word to refer to African Americans all the time. You kind of proved it by bringing up the example of the southern cooking show lady.
But you should stop pretending ignorance of the fact that the N word means something quite different when a white person says it to refer to a black person than when a black person uses the word.
Words gain their meaning from the context. The situation, the speaker and the listener are very important. The social context is critical. Racist words are no exception. When a black person uses a certain word to refer to another black person, the history of that is not dark or shameful, but we do have a history of whites using it to describe blacks and that history is very ugly.

That is because __some__ people can use that so-called N word without any consequences at all. Unfortunately, Ms. Deen is a "C" and therefore is not qualified to say "N".

She said it once, crucify her! Sarcasm. I hear the same word on late night tv all the time. Even on the movie "Rush Hour". Media got hold of it and wants profits from advertising.

It's fun to say. It makes me smile because it upsets pc liberals. If it weren't so taboo it would be just another innocuous word and I'd have no incentive to use it.

I was watching some women's prison show on MSNBC a few weeks ago, and there was this black woman getting angry at the cops and calling them crackers. Not only did they not bother to censor it, but they even had the gull to spell it out on the screen, as if she wasn't speaking perfect English and we couldn't understand her.
