Why is Religion so harsh?

It's more on the part of 'we are the ones who blindly walk into hell' than 'God sends us to hell'. The life you lead determines your fitting destination. You didnt actually expect that people who miss out of the bad pleasures by choosing a clean life are actually going to end up on the same page with those who did all the baaad their life spans could manage, did you? Or murders and rapists? Just think of God's judgement as Him assigning you to your most fitting post after displaying your skills in an internship.

Just think of Religion as essentially being like a business, so they just do whatever it takes to recruit new members and destroy the competition even if that means killing, oppressing or forcing their agenda on governments because history shows that is how Christianity has always been and only become less now that democracy took away their power.

Mainly because a lot of people are forcing belief upon others. I personally believe that people are free to do as they wish, but whatever things they do will get a result in return. As for God, He exists everywhere, you cannot escape him, and in general, for those that don't believe in Him, they are likely to commit more bad deeds than good deeds, thus sending them to Hell. I'm a liberal Muslim, and I do believe in God, but I don't believe in forcing beliefs upon others, that's extremism.

Time is an inperfect state that sin has created..Jesus & God will fix that.Be a seeker of truth & common sense.Use your brain & sense God gave you.Look around you.

We are not the ones who decide peoples destinations, it's God and God alone

true religion is a system of Allah, not of man. you have to follow it. otherwise you will be punished and spoiled. It is not harsh, it is to bridle the evil. If you are evil, it will be harsh for you. if you are right, it will be blessing for you. Mind and mend yourself.
