How to ILS Land on flight simulator 2004?

here is step by step guidance to ILS landing [in easy words]

1. Create IFR plan [not necessary but it really helps as ATC would guide you to the runway]

2. Find the ILS frequency of the runway you are landing on. [you can use MAP option and click on the runway to find its frequency, for eg: Runway 9L 113.75MHz]

[you can also find frequency using GPS receiver but i don't know if its available in FS2004 or not. its available in FSX]

3. Enter that frequency in NAV radio panel. [NAV 1 in cessna 172/182] and click white button with <-> symbol and STBY written above it to enter that frequency into ILS receiver.

4. you will se ILS needles move if you are on final approach on the tuned runway.

5. make corrections to keep the needle centred. intercept localizer [vertical needle] to lineup with runway and then get glide slope centered [as rod machado says. keep air speed at 90kts and descent rate -500fpm. after intercepting glideslope].

you can try this in training mission. its easy to learn but hard to master [in windy condition]

6. keep it centered and land.

i won't explain DME or O M I indicators as its unnecessary for basic ILS landing in VFR but you can consider learning it later.

Dial the ILS frequency into the Nav radio and keep the needles crossed. It works the same way as the real thing.

Don't ask in the computer game section

No one there knows anything about fs2004 or any flight sim.

There are forums dedicated to fsx and other flight sims. Try those. They are active, and have really helpful people.
