Can a paternity dna test detect whether the gender of the participants?

Doing an at home dna test kit. Its a cheek swab kit you filll out the info and send it to the lab and they send you your results. Can the test indicate whether the participants are male or female? I want to be sure that my partner doesnt somehow switch around the swabs with my other child or themself. What do you think?

What do you mean by the gender ?

Usually a paternity test is done to make sure if he is the father of that child

being that DNA indicates whether someone is male or female, then yes, they will be able to "detect gender". my advice would be to do the complete test yourself and/or be present when she swabs your "alleged" child's mouth. or simply go to a clinic that does it for you.
