Why are British people still complaining about the crappy summers in Britain?
Why are people still complaining about the crap weather?
Yes its summertime and yes its still gray skies, its been happening for the past 10 years hasn't anybody figured out the pattern yet?
I can predict what summertimes will be like in Britain because every year is always the same except summertimes get slightly worse each year as the years go by.
I was amazed that we had about 4 weeks of good sunshine already this year and it isn't even August yet. There will probably be a wash out no doubt within the next few weeks or so before the last bit of sunshine.
So this is the way summer goes in Britain... News reporters will tell you that we are going to have a fantastic hot Indian summer but of course it never happens. A bit of sunshine in April for a few days but cold. Lots of rain and gray skies in May. Some nice weather in June "about 2 weeks worth" then more rain and gray skies. July more rain than ever lots of floods. August more rain and by the 25th of August the weather will then start improving, then it will be nice sunny days until the end of September and then back to the coldness and gloomy dull gray Great British weather.
But hasn't anybody realized the pattern from the last 10 years?
It never used to be like this. Lots of people have said to me that they can remember hot summers in Britain during the 1960's There was also the summer of 1976. There were lots of hot sunny days during the 1980's. Growing up during the 1990's I can remember lots of really good hot summers. Summer times in Britain only started going down hill by the end of the year 2000 and it has started to get worse each year form there. I'm guessing its to do with the polarizations of the earth have changed. I'm not claiming to be an expert but its not rocket science either.

I was at school in the U.K in the 1970s and can remember the summers of 1973, 1974, 1975 and especially that scorcher of 1976 so well.
Our Headmaster authorised everyone to literally loosen up school Uniforms we could all appear at school without a school tie on and it would not be a problem because it was sooo hot, "summer weather dress conditions" as he called it ! Iremember that 1979 was another nice summer as well but in April 1980 it snowed and nobody could believe it ! I also remember the freezing winter of January 1982 and then the weather patterns just seemed to completely change, spring was not spring any more, there were no more April showers like we had in the 1970s and that was it, totally changed all the way and now it is grey skies almost all year I do believe, as told by family and friends who are telling me about it. I am not there anymore, I moved away to more sunny tropical climates !

Don't confuse the British and the English. Those on the Celtic fringes have got used to the weather. The English have only been here for around 1,600 years and haven't yet come to grips with the fact that it rains all the time. Why do you think it's a green and pleasant land?

You see when its summer we want the sun not the rain -One reason
2- We are British what do you expect
3- Some people are just like that
4- Could just be Polish peeps living in our country complaining all the time, so they make us complain.
5- Some people want sun not rain all the time.
I like the British weather its unpredictable and its not always boiling hot all the time like in other countries. People are just like that, they want a certain weather, don't get it, they complain.

@~Emma~ You do not speak for all of us. I hate summer and hot weather. Now stop trying to speak on my behalf. -.-
