Does anybody notice how society made up make believe heros?

That actually saved the people and fought enemies that tried to cause havoc on the general public. Im watching Transformers with my son. (1985, not any of the new crap). And wonder woman was like this, charlie angels were like this, superman was like this, batman is like this. I mean its a long list of good guys who save people on earth and fight for the better of the cause against enemies who try to destroy earth.

But I can't think of any new heros that were like that. Or any new movies where they have a hero against villan who saves the world. Most are old concepts brought back.

Update:

umm how come you never like to follow the question i didnt ask for real people who fight for rights of people (not to mention those people arent anything new). I was talking about motion pictures of made up heros and villans

Update 2:

iron man, transformers are not a new idea. I was just wanting to know a brand new idea of heros who try to save the world and protect humans against somebody who wants to destroy the world.

I mean look at how horror movies are made all those just seem like remakes to me. Where is the brand new material?

Update 3:

you didn't read the details but its really okay, not a big deal. i wrote the details for a reason I can't explain the whole meaning in one little 10 word topic

Hollywood can't think of anything new for one. And the idea of a hero today is not the same. Heroes now can have imperfections as in falling to the dark side of things and as in not having super powers. People who are considered more human with human wants and needs are more appealing to an audience today I think because people can relate.

There are modern examples of this, they just aren't QUITE as over the top as the superhero tropes.

And sometimes they are a bit of anti-heroes as well.

The Transporter movies, for example are over the top, but not as much as Batman. And, he's a criminal who ends up being an unwilling hero of sorts.

Don't get me wrong: I like many of the superhero movies. Who doesn't like an ultra high tech, exoskeletal, metal suit bristling with weapons (Iron Man)?

But, most of the new "heroes" are less flashy and less heroic.
