What is a cooler job in the army? Army airborne or air assault?
I've been thinking about different jobs in the military. My main focuses are marines or army. My choices are in the marines are infantry or PMO. And in the army, I want to go either airborne or air assault. And hopefully if I go air assault get into the 101st. So does anyone have any tips for me on what to pick? And also out of the army jobs that I put down who sees more combat? Airborne or air assault (101st airborne)

Why???
What about after the Military, when you want to raise a family???
You should pick a job the TEACHES you something that will help get a job after the Military.
Being in combat is NOT cool.

Air Assault and Airborne are skills not jobs. A cook can be Air Assault and Airborne qualified. Anyone in the Army can go to these schools if they meet the minimum prerequisites.

Well, you need to know that Airborne contract= Airborne school, they still might send you to light/striker.. infantry unit instead of 82, same with Air Assault, also you can go trough AA/AB schools later in your career, although AB is hard to get, unless you will try for SF/Rangers, cause non AB units have no buissenes in paying to teach ppl how to use parachute, much easier to get to AA shool, not only 101 has AA capabilities

I would say stay in the Air Force, it's pretty hard to get into and engineering? You already got a good future dude. Don't worry about the army.

every combat arms unit does air assault missions, you don't need to go to air assault school to get into the 101st and you won't do anything there that any other combat arms unit (especially light infantry ones) do. on the other hand you need to go to airborne school to get into an airborne unit, since airborne operations require a lot more training than air assault does.
neither of those are jobs. "air assault" refers to an operation that (as i stated) everyone does. in terms of the 101st it means they have more air assets than other units. airborne isnt' a job either. within the 101st and 82nd (as well as every other unit) there are hundreds of MOSs (jobs).
in terms of which one has seen more combat- the 82nd deploys more troops than the 101st does.
bill- you were a squid, sailing around might count as a deployment but its not "combat." the infantry will give you plenty of experience for getting a job when you get out, and unless you want to work in a specific area that has a, exact military equivalent, it doesn't matter what MOS you had. if you really want a trade skill when you get out then you have the GI bill.
