WA residents - What's it like in your city?
My family and I are looking to move to Washington state in the next months and are stuck in a little but of a rut. You see, we were looking at Bremerton area and towns or cities around the peninsula but my mom read the crimes statistics for Bremerton and it was pretty bad compared to other places we're considering such as Eugene , OR. She called a realtor in Bremerton and asked him about crime. For the sake of his business he simply refused to tell her about it. When she called a realtor in Eugene she was pleased to tell my mom about the little-to-no crime in the area. So what I want to know is what city do you live in/ do you enjoy living there/ is it a good place to move to? Btw, I'm 16 and I'm very serious about playing guitar - what is the music like/ musician friendly area etc.
Btw we also looked up the crime rates in Eugene and they are very good.

I wouldn't move to Eugene just because some realtor trying to sell you a house verbally told you that crime rates are low. You can look up crime rates online.
Like any major area - crime varies based on the specific area. There are bad neighborhoods and good neighborhoods which are sometimes only a few miles apart. The best advice I can give is to find a full service realtor who has lived in the area for a long time who is willing to drive you around and show you where the good & bad areas are.
Bremerton specifically has the shipyards which draw in the type of people who probably commit a lot of smaller crimes. Know the area, stay out of the bad areas and you'll be fine. Just a few miles away is Silverdale which is a very nice place to live.

I live on the Eastside, and I can say there is basically no crime here. I live in Kirkland and I'm 17 years old. Its a great town, not too big or too small, and its close to Bellevue, which is a really nice area. If your passionate about music tour going to find an amazing music scene the closer you get to Seattle. My boyfriend is in a band with a couple other guys and they're part of a greater music community called 'Ground Zero' and they find gigs for high school kids and older to play in Seattle. However, living in Seattle is pretty pricey. So I would definitely suggest you look into Kirkland, Bellevue, and Sammamish (if your looking for a very quite, suburban area with lots of forest. It gets pricey there)

The rule of thumb is to move to where you can get / have a job. Just to say, Bremerton is a big navy town; and it would be expensive to commute to Seattle every day.

It's a great city, lot's to do and a very wealthy area. And I'll be damned if I'm going to tell you which city that is.
