Starvation diet and Diabetic?

I'm trying to lose 50 pounds before October, December at the latest. I'm thinking about just doing a starvation diet, I have diabetes to so is that a good diet plan or are there any other diet plans.

I'm 16 yrs old, 4'11, 145 lbs. I'd like to get down to at least 90 - 100.

Please help :)

    (1) You should NOT be LESS than 100 pounds. For safety sake, you should be about 105 to 110.

    (2) Starvation diets will kill a normal person. Since you have diabetes, a starvation diet is almost certain death for you..

But the question is, why do you NEED a starvation diet? You need to lose about 35-40 pounds, and if December 1 is your goal; then you have 5 months to do it. That means you need to lose less than 8 pounds a month, or ONLY two pounds a week.

Two pounds a week is considered a safe dieting goal. It is slow enough that it will not damage your body, AND it is slow enough that your body will get used to it so that you will not gain the weight back when you stop dieting (as you MUST with a starvation diet).

But as a diabetic YOU NEED TO FOLLOW THIS RULE:

Never do ANYTHING without first talking to your doctor!

Weight loss (and gain) is a constant problem for diabetics, and you must do NOTHING without talking to your doctor, who will also need to monitor your medications and bodily functions (especially heart, liver, and kidneys) while you are dieting.

8 pounds a month is safe. DO NOT put your life in danger with a Starvation Diet.

Talk to your doctor about the best way to lose weight for YOU. First of all, you should be eating a healthy diet with moderate portions. You should be exercising regularly. under no circumstances should to go on a starvation diet. This will cause you WAY more problems then you need.

    Ask your doctor!

Not a good idea for a diabetic--your glucose is going to go crazy which is going to do you harm. What you should do is keep a food diary for a week or two--write down every single thing you eat or drink and a fair estimate of the amount eat time (e.g., 12 oz. of soda). Even gum or breath mints, write it all down. look up the calories for what you ate and drank each day so you get a pretty good idea of what y our average calorie intake is. Then aim to eat 100-150 less calories --that's a pretty good amount, and up your daily activity/exercise. What you should cut down on is the empty calories that contribute so little to keeping you alive. And make sure every day that you eat protein, green leafy veggies, and fruit (and just a wee bit of starchy carbs if you want). Look for starchy carbs that are real high in fiber to keep you from getting hungry too soon. And test your blood.

There is a lot of stuff on the internet that is basically fat-shaming diabetics for causing their own diabetes with their bad diet and lack of exercise and general lack of moral fibre. A lot of this stuff is written by non-doctors, often with a supplement or diet or training plan to sell that they claim will completely cure diabetes if only people stick to it.

I read this interesting book https://tr.im/OQofF that gave me a lot of useful tips about my disease and also a different perspective on the best therapeutical approach. I think you should read it too.

    I hope it helps

Your best bet is to go to weight watchers , follow their diet and exercise.

Fad diets like this will make you ill and slow down your metabolism making it harder to lose weight.

People who are saying you need to weigh 100+ are not looking at your height.

If you don't eat with diabetes you will become sick.

That is like the dumbest thing a diabetic can do, ask your doctor your safe dieting advice.

FYI, 90 would be like anorexic for any 16 year old, that is the healthy weight of a 11 - 12 year old.

Well I'm not sure if I'd classify myself as anorexic, but I definitely do not eat enough and occasionally do feel dizzy. I actually like the dizziness, but I can see how it can get annoying if continuous. I don't know if this would help, but would caffeine (If it doesn't raise your glucose) It comes in capsules of pure caffeine so you don't have to drink anything. You might want to try to see if your doctor has any suggestions.
